Woman Quits Job to Build Sustainable Bamboo Homes In Bali

Posted on May 27, 2019May 27, 2019 by Adorable Living Spaces

Elora Hardy, who had a successful career in the fashion industry in New York quit her job and decided to build bamboo houses in Indonesia. She spent 5 years for building the bamboo homes with her team. Hardy believed that the bamboo even though not very used is a great renewable resource. She treats the bamboo with boron in order to keep it safe from insects.

The idea she picked up from her father who chose bamboo for all of the buildings. So Hardy thought it would be a loss not to use thee bamboo as a sustainable material that does not consume.

Also an incredible fact is that the bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the whole world. Bamboo’s only weakness is insects and the possibility of moisture but if it is properly treated, bamboo structures can sustain for a lifetime. And above all, the magical bamboos structures look really amazing and breathtaking.
