Ladies and gentlemen, cabin-lovers from all over the world, we are happy to introduce you to a beautiful story shared by Margy Lutz and her husband, which revolves around an astounding cabin they built together on Powell River.
These two town people decided to take a shot at living in an off-grid cabin, and what was supposed to be just a turnover to a simpler life, became their most inspiring life story about finding each-other, inner peace and privacy.
For the pair, it all started back in 2001 when they were on a flying camping trip with their small plane. They landed in Powell River located in Coastal British Columbia, and while there, they rented a small boat to explore the river. The first thing which immediately captured their attention was the floating cabins, and that’s when they made their life-changing decision.
They quickly hired a local real estate agent, found the perfect spot, and built their floating retreat. To get into details, the raft occupies approximately 675 square foot. It has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a great room with a vaulted ceiling, as well as fully modern and equipped kitchens and living areas.
Margy and her husband are currently retired, and they spend most of their days in their floating cabin home. They say there are plenty activities that keep them occupied, such as wood gathering, swimming, gardening, snowshoeing, sailing and more, but there is nothing better than getting up in the morning, and sipping a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise over the beautiful Goat Island.
