If you are someone who loves adventure, hiking and breathtaking views as much as they love quiet, peace and cabins in the middle of nowhere, then we have something that’s a mixture of both, and we believe it will leave a lasting impression.
Situated in the Piz Lunghin, also famous by the name of “Roof of Europe”, the On-Mountain Hut was built by famous award-winning architect Thilo Alex Brunner and is famous for its idyllically remote location right next to an alpine lake. The hut is reachable only on foot, and hovers at approximately 8,200 feet of elevation.
The interior of the hut is finished with plywood, and all the walls, floors, ceiling were made with a selection of simple tables. One of the most remarkable things about the hut is that it is fully powered by solar panels, and uses natural rainwater.
Anyone who is a big fan of thrilling hiking and adventure is welcome to hike up the mountain and visit the hut, but only the winners of competitions hosted by On’s retail partners are allowed to stay overnight.
Feel free to take a look below and enjoy all the beauty, from the hut, to the remarkable views.
